Swamp-metal kin of Leadfoot and Maylene & the Sons of Disaster, Automag blends classic and Southern rock boogie with '80s metal overtones. These songs should come with keys to a Camaro. They're not as greasy as Leadfoot nor as metal as Maylene, sounding more like Marshall Tucker doing Pantera karaoke. Oh yeah, they're a "Bad Motherfucker" with the "Devil In Me," but the bluster might be more convincing if the songs didn't sound like they were pulled directly out of the Redneck Hard Rock Big Note Songbook. Rory Kelly's Triple Threat shares the bill. —Chris Parker
