After graduating with honors from SUNY-Buffalo, he traveled throughout Europe and the East, and has spent nearly 30 years studying Zen, vipassana, yoga, and Tibetan Buddhism with many of the great old masters of Asia.
Author of Awakening the Buddha Within and Awakening to the Sacred, Surya Das will be in the Triangle this weekend, leading two programs. The first, on Friday, May 23, from 7--9 p.m., is "Integrating Spiritual Practice into Daily Life." On Saturday, May 24, he is leading a daylong program, "Letting Go of Who You Used to Be: Buddhist Lessons on Loss, Change, and Spiritual Transformation."
