Good Food for a Good Cause

On Sunday, Oct. 27, More than 200 businesses, including 34 Triangle restaurants, will join the Ronald McDonald House of Chapel Hill for the 12th annual A Tasteful Affair fundraising gala. The event will help the nonprofit organization raise money to provide support and services for families of seriously ill and injured children being treated at UNC Hospitals. Sunday's festivities include a silent auction, raffle--with travel packages to St. Maartens and New Orleans--wine, art, jewelry, golf packages, sports memorabilia and gift certificates. Among the restaurants providing a sampling of fine cuisines are All Things Good, Bombay Grille, Carolina Crossroads at the Carolina Inn, East End Fine Seafood, Henry's Bistro, Mama Dip's Kitchen and Spotted Dog Restaurant. A Tasteful Affair will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Carolina Club, UNC-Chapel Hill Campus. Tickets are $40 and may be purchased at several Chapel Hill locations, including The Ronald McDonald House, 101 Mason Farm Road; Purple Puddle, 400 Elliott Road; DeGustibus, University Mall, or the UNC Hospitals Volunteer Services Office.
