Wednesday nights at 8, throughout July on UNC-TV, gather round the modern day campfire for an encore presentation of Frontier House. This reality series plunks three modern-day families down into realistic retro situations. Join the Glenn family of Tennessee, the Clune family of California, and the Brooks family of Massachusetts as they face six months in the Montana wilderness as 1880s homesteaders, with only the tools and technology of the period at their disposal. Don't miss the July 17 episode, when UNC-Chapel Hill alumni Nate Brooks and Kristen McLeod (pictured above) tie the knot pioneer-style. Brooks, a 29-year-old political science major who graduated from UNC-CH in 1995, took a two-week training session on how to build log cabins before building a home using a rope, handsaw and hammer for his bride, whom he met at UNC-CH in 1993. Of the three families, the Brookses were the only ones required to build a log cabin from scratch. See their handiwork this Wednesday at 8 p.m. on UNC-TV. Call 549-7177 for details.
