All in all, this amendment is outstanding and wise. It does three excellent things at once: (1) it stops the homosexual community from court shopping in NC for an activist judge to overturn current law that bans gay marriage, (2) it wipes out the concept of civil unions, and (3) makes it clear that private parties can enter into individual contracts that cannot be changed/prohibited/modified by law.

The criteria for any legislation should be, "is it natural", that is, does it enact, promote, defend, or protect a process, any process, in the ineffable cycle of eternal creation, and if it is, then it may be enacted with the blessings of the supreme God no matter whose feathers it ruffles. The reality of politics is that it is a rather low calling, attracting only those who want to control the lives of others, the mother of half truths, egoic falsehoods, covert evils we're not supposed to know about, and sophomoric human philosophies, and sadly we've been conditioned to look there for answers to our quandaries.
I'm neither pro homosexual nor anti homosexual, (homosexual is a much nicer more straightforward term, "Gay" is a phony euphemism that has come to mean nasty and/or repulsive) and I don't give a shit what you want to do with your smelly orifices long as you keep it to yourself.
