With the recent expansion of the Cary station, my interest in the Raleigh Station has been reignited. The use of this building for a interim station or the foundation for a more comprehensive station does make sense for me. It's location in the middle of the Wye offers access to multiple tracks and the land in between.

This is a good plan, and it doesn't have squat to do with commuter rail. That's a red herring.

I am still concerned at the size of the parking lot that would accompany this building. That's about as underutilized as a piece of land could get.

I like the idea of saving money, but this plan is horrible. The location, completely surrounded by tracks, is not a good idea.

Thanks for writing by far the most comprehensive article on this subject.

I think this is an adequate location for a station. The proposed high platforms will be nice.
