      <![CDATA[I think that it is important to point out that the <a href="http://blockthquarry.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">BlockthQuarry.org</a> website has a lot of misguiding information. On it's home page it misinforms the reader into thinking that the proposed rezoning would have a negative impact on Umstead State Park and the wild habitat that the Quarry was to use as an expanded area.

      <![CDATA[Raleigh WASTED eveyones time/ quarry could never have been RE-ZONED<br>

EMAIL dated december 2010 /staff , bowers and mark senior heads for raleigh NC<br>
<br>
quarry would have to be shut down, /if millions of water became contaminated from the quarry it would have to be treated / not possible they say!<br>
<br>
also they say current permit insufficient to allow more discharge and not allowed another one that they are eally working illegaly WITH OLD PERMIT!<br>

      <![CDATA[This quarry was rejected because each member of the Planning Commission, after months of study, saw that there were no real benefits. They also cited the inconsistency with the Comprehensive Plan and surrounding development next to the residentially-zoned parcel.

      <![CDATA[While I don't dispute the intentions of the neighborhood groups that opposed the quarry expansion, I would challenge the David vs. Goliath narrative that's being touted here. I think the victory here has a lot more to do with the continued domination of the Planning Commission by real estate development interests.
