I saw Devon Does Denmark on Saturday night. I got some good chuckles out of the experience, but mostly, I thought the humor was a bit lame, with many in the cast trying way too hard.

The quality of what we say and how we say it is subjective at best.
You ask "was it really necessary to be so rude?"
I ask you the same question.

You are assuming the reviewer is being fair.
I am assuming you haven’t seen the play.

Thankfully, all of us are still entitled to our opinions.

That has to be one of the most condescending and snotty comments I have ever seen on here, and sadly, if the initials of "idw" are to be believed, this was expressed by the actual director/writer of the "farce".

I'm sure Mr. Smith is well aware of the definition of "farce", but isn't it one of the jobs of a reviewer to express to a potential audience the sort of evening they can expect from seeing the play, especially a new one that has never before been done?

The review was professional and fair, acknowledging some strengths as well as some weaknesses.
