      <![CDATA[Honeybees are not "native pollinators" as you say, but are nonnative species brought here by humans from Europe in the 1600s. The link I provided below offers many reasons to avoid exploiting bees for pollination or honey.

Many of us beekeepers raise bees to increase the population of this valuable species, not merely to take their honey. Most hobby beekeepers do not take honey from our bees, unless they have produced a major excess.

Since we have no need to consume honey, we ought not to eat honey to avoid harming bees. Help bees by choosing agave nectar and other delicious bee-free sweeteners.
