      <![CDATA[I somehow missed this column when it was first published and am grateful to have found it. Reading it now fills my eyes with memories of that magical month of summer, the strange odyssey of the US team, the ups and downs of Ghana's quest to carry all of Africa on its shoulders and the general sense the World Cup provides that all is right with the world.
