During the District 4 Candidates Debate, Mr. Hutchins was able to explain that the Executive Committee was made up of a few Elitist Republicans who never even advised him as to what changes he needed to make in order to be a viable candidate by their standards.

We thank NBC-17 and Triangle Conservatives Unite for allowing full disclosure on this matter during the debate.

We will see on Tuesday what the people think.

As Campaign Organizer for the George Hutchins campaign, I am quite shocked by your statement that the GOP advised him not to run and issued a statement dissociating him from the Party. I know absolutely nothing of such actions.

While I think both the Indy pick Lewis as well as Cunningham would make fine choices against Burr I am hoping Elaine will win this primary.

As you mention she is the most critical of continued war whereas the Indy mentioned specifically that Lewis supports the surge as the best of bad options.

Also on gay rights issues Elaine is more progressive than Ken or Cal. If you look over their lgbt/civil rights sections on their websites you'll see she has taken more and more specific stances than either of the other 2.

Furthermore, Elaine has polled against Burr the best consistently over the past 6 months in the Public Policy Polling results I have seen as well as other polls that I have seen, and has been gain the most ground on Burr the fastest.

So the way I see it, here is how I rank them:
Viability in the Polls against Burr:
1) Elaine
2) Cal
3) Ken

Most Progressive:
1) Elaine
2) Ken
3) Cal

They aren't so different that any of them is a bad choice against Burr in the fall, but on war and gay rights and viability against Burr it is Elaine who is the strongest choice.

Unlike Renee Ellmers, a one-issue candidate running on a healthcare platform, Todd Gailas is a conservative Constitutionalist that is actually grounded in principles and has an understanding of the issues. You've done yourself a disservice by not researching this candidate better.

You mention B.J. Lawson as "a diehard Libertarian who'd take the country back to the 19th century if he could." Your statement appears to imply that Mr. Lawson advocates a return to forcible government suppression of labor unions, government-enforced and supported legal slavery/Jim Crow segregation, and the removal of women's suffrage.

Of course, nothing could be further from the truth, and I find your characterization of Mr. Lawson insulting and dismissive.
