Banning wind farms in the mountains while allowing Duke Energy to construct new coal-burning behemoths like Cliffside and paving the way for offshore drilling platforms are prime examples of how North Carolina became one of the "brown" states.

Our General Assembly has a responsibility to safeguard our environment, and they are failing miserably.

From the presentation provided we know that there is more wind out there than the electricity consumed across the entire state. Compared there is only a 7% change of finding oil or gas, previous drilling was abandoned unsuccessfully and we know that it's in any case going to be much too little to offset and current demand or the reduction in worldwide production.

It's time to drill and make some money like the Alaskans. I've read that to supply New York City, a wind farm would have to be the size of Connecticut.
