Following is my support for two other schools for the blind. My opinions and feelings are the same for the North Carolina school.

Common sense dictates that when you need to cut your budget you first prioritize your spending, then cut the lowest priority items first. Once we see what our politicians plan to cut we can be sure that they are doing one of two things.

Typical politicians ploy--find something highly visible and highly emotional and threaten to cut that instead of looking for real ways to save money.

A lot of years ago, the National Park Service was told to cut their expenses.

It seems like the gov't is cutting money from those in the population that most need it. Blind kids???

Training Teachers and parents of blind children goes further than just the children whos lives are saved by education at Governor Morehead School. Educating blind children, and those that work with them save the community millions in support, not just the transfomation for a blind child that can learn to support themselves.

I agree w/ Jennifer on the issue that if you take away a families means to answer all those unknown questions- who do they have to turn to. Let's not let them close down this school.
