Sorry, Ms. Strom, but y'all missed the boat here. I stood in a long line in Hillsborough this morning, and a number of us were lamenting the absence of the Indy's county endorsement sheet.

patriot 17: We have published endorsements for the Durham prepared food tax (in our Oct. 15 print edition) and the Durham soil and water board (online). Those are the only contested LOCAL races on the ballot in Durham.

Orange County - Hillsborough Library, Oct 17th (or 16th) the Democratic Party table was assaulted by a Republican in his vehicle. He was shouting "he should have been killed years ago!"

This is our second presidential election with the option to vote early. By now the Independent Weekly should be routinely publishing its endorsements the Wednesday before early voting starts.

Headline "Indy Missing in Action, Neglects to mention or post election guides for Orange and Durham counties." If then Indy is a "Triangle" publication, then why don't you pay attention to the TRI-angle, not just Wake county???

I am also unhappy not to get the Indy endorsements when early voting starts. I have found the endorsements and the writeups that go with them extremely useful, particularly for local and less visible offices.

I concur with all the previous comments about the frustration experienced with having to wait to see the endorsements. I have read each of your articles, and take your comments into consideration, but having to wait until the 23rd to vote because I have to read and process the info.

For future elections, please reconsider your new policy of publishing endorsements in stages. Those of us who have to vote absentee ballots have come to rely on you for help.

Go to the polling site, and vote straight down your party line. Remember to ALSO mark you PRESIDENTIAL choice, as it is not default.

I had wanted to vote Oct 16 as well, but depend on The Independant for my choices for a lot of state, local & judicial races. So will postpone until Oct 22, but please consider having your endorsements out next election by the time people can start voting.
