      <![CDATA[Virgil, The State of North Carolina does not have a record of being "trigger happy" with its use of capital punishment. For the record, the wrongful execution rate is zero... and capital murderers are given years of access to due process before they face execution... no matter what "your" lawyers that represent the accused (and their websites) say.

      <![CDATA[wayneuber, The first reason to not get trigger-happy with capital punishment, or dismissive of debating it, is that a surprising number of human beings have been known to sometimes make mistakes. I won't go so far as to assume that would include you, but I can tell you it has been known to happen to witnesses, cops, forensic scientists, prosecutors, defenders, judges -- I think I might be leaving someone out -- oh yeah, juries.
