Hey Indy Week...... You supported the NC Democrats who created the Amazon Tax Law in 2009.. You spoke so eloquently about these legislators and why we should vote for them.... Take a hard long look at the mess these General Assembly Members made for the small website owners in North Carolina by scapegoating the small NC website owner holding them responsible for all online purchases made by the NC Citizen. The Amazon Tax Law sponsors Weiss, Hoyle, Stein, Harrison, Insko, Luebke, never mentioned the numerous 100 million dollar resale deals NC corporations had with Amazon's cloud services. Instead they focused on a small Ridgewood shopping center Book store whose owner had contributed heavily to several of the sponsor's campaigns. Think I am a Right wing nut slamming these great progressive liberal Democrats then wrap your head around this. The main lobbyist for the 2009 Amazon Tax law is now the head of Art Pope's Civitas group. Yea. They played with the Devil and they gave Art Pope exactly what he wanted.
When Josh Stein stood up to denounce the tactics of this new GOP controlled General Session he only made a hypocrite of himself because he used the same underhanded and nasty tactics by helping place the NC Amazon Tax bill in the 2009 budget even though this legislation never passed committee votes nor was voted for on the General Assembly Floor. These legislators made up their own law refusing to follow the guidelines set up to protect the NC Citizen.
RaleighPublicRecord.com is not the first independent NC website to fail to profit from their efforts. I wish someone could show me an example of a NC independent website which has become a success story. The NC General Assembly sponsors of the NC Amazon Tax Law in 2009 killed the small NC website industry and their actions and tactics were way worse than anything Art Pope could orchestrate today... Think I am wrong then I will buy you anything you want from an Art Pope store from their online websites if you can prove me wrong.... Pope does not sell online and did not want his poor minority communities to buy online and these progressive Liberal Democratic legislators in 2009 made sure NO NC local Website would survive to encourage online shopping.....
