Who will be apologizing to Macon for the tar and feathering? She did/does not deserve it.
I LIKE the poem of Macon's that you trash here. It has no extra words; it is of proper magnitude; and it has the balanced content that makes us see this every man, homeless by no fault of his own. I appreciate what you say of the governor's process and why he might have ducked the system, but it is you who do poets and the arts harm by trashing this emerging poet. May she, the muses and the populace forgive you. May we all mend and then forgive NC for all the harm it has done in education and the arts. May you pick an enemy your own size in the future.
