Frankly it actually does. Because if Lorrin Freeman actually had any jury cases to be sent back from the Court of Appeals we could go find that opinion and rip it apart like you're doing to Boz. Which by the way, is exactly what Republicans are doing to Robin Hudson.
Wow. I truly have never seen anything like this witch hunt in my life, and all because Boz asked a question every single one of us is asking outside of whatever inner political circle you all are in. If the answer to how a scandal like this happened under your watch in the corporate world was "but I answered an anonymous tip and then turned them in, how dare you question anything else" you would be fired.
You're required to do that by law, I'm not sure why everyone is lauding that action as heroic. That's great she did what she was required to do by law when facing an election when she could have hid it, that's great. But, a good manager would have come out and used this as an opportunity to talk about the procedures she's implemented in the wake of this, the steps she's taken to make sure this never happens again. That's what people in the corporate world expect, no matter how much you're not involved in the actual embezzlement. All I've heard she's done, from everyone but her, is exactly what she was required to do by law and nothing about her managerial skills brought this to light. It was an anonymous tip! And frankly, the more and more you all become hysterical about this, the more and more it shows she actually has no answer for what average, everyday people are asking.
Instead of using this as an opportunity to make her stronger and show her managerial skills however, people are now trying to destroy the career of a prosecutor and public servant, and one who routinely prosecutes sexual predators, rapists and murderers for half of the money Lorrin probably makes. This is everything that is wrong with the Democratic party today and exactly why young candidates don't get involved in public service. Finally, you're upset because of a "technically" right fact on Boz's mailings but the misleading facts on her mailers are cool? I guess "prosecuted" hundreds of cases is "technically" right but clear she has never tried a criminal jury case or handled a felony prosecution as indicative by you all irrationally tearing down someone who has served the public for 7 years to detract from that fact and failing to provide any answers.
It may be normal for corporations to do this but the semi-public aspect of them should account for a higher level of responsibility to its shareholders. If money wasn't going to maintenance of things like this, what was it going to and why. Answers are deserved at the very least and should be expected.
How many Spider-Mans have there been in the past 10 years
I agree with CW and Chriskebob. I understand the fear of development but there's a way to present the fear v. what you actually know will happen to the site without writing a slanted article. Gardners quote sounds like he understands the community vibe and I don't think any smart developer anywhere, especially ones who have been in Durham for 20 years, would want another Cary.
This article walked the line between lauding and disclosing. Gutsy write during sexual assault awareness month. There are so many other artists to write about who need the spotlight. I understand he's controversial that may get more readers but seems like principle should have prevailed here. People like this love attention and this only satisfies that need more.
