We seem to be forgetting one important aspect......The people. people that rely on City Buses to get around. Seniors and the Handicap, they are people too right. They ride the buses to get to where they need to go. Great for RTP, I'm not knocking the idea of having stores, housing, etc... to the area. A light rail system from the Airport to Downtown Raleigh or Downtown Durham is very vital to the area. Improve City Bus service to include 24/7 or late night service, not everybody works 9 to 5 Monday to Friday. I see everday people that have to walk almost a mile to get to a bus stop to catch the bus on schedule. And lets not forget the State Government B/S and red tape that causes the delays on voting for Mass Transit. For years now, delay after delay. The time to act on having better rapid transit is now not 100 years from now. I myself will be willing to pay a tax for transit if it can improve the quality of life for others that rely on bus service and better transit. If there is ever a time for action....it is Now.
