It's funny that I've seen a couple of sources say that the copper mug "helps keep the mule super cold". In fact, copper has a very high thermal conductivity... meaning it is not a good thermal insulator. The copper mug will feel very cold to the touch, because the heat from your hand is flying into your drink at an amazing rate. Copper is actually horrible at keeping your drink cold and glass is far superior. But 'tis all in the touch of the cup holder who perceives it as being 'colder'.
