This is tooooooo good
Biggest thing that stood out to me was that Raleigh lost another resident due to high rent prices. I love my city, but soon I may not be able to live here either! Sad. Anyway: Great piece! Glad to have you!
Why must the MC Escher quotes be removed? I was really hoping they'd stay up looooong after the exhibit closes.
I find it really, really, REALLY hard to believe that anyone living high up in the PNC tower requires ear-plugs to go to sleep. Or anywhere downtown. Please. Close your window, perhaps?
I'm wondering why all the hate for further development growth? What is wrong with putting more buildings and increasing density in our city, exactly? I understand we need to get better public transport in order and more incentives for retail/small business growth before really going crazy with more buildings/skyscrapers, and I absolutely am not advocating for more cookie-cutter, monolithic, suburban style 5-story apartment buildings that include zero ground floor retail/restaurant space- those need to stop. But more towers (keyword: towers) built on downtown surface parking lots would be a welcome addition to the city skyline and I'd like to see more yearning for that.
Philippic - what does any of that "prove?" Charge 1: Unless he was being an annoying drunk or trying to drive under the influence, but all it was for is "possession of alcohol" so who cares, stupid law. Charge 2: MJ shouldn't be illegal anyway, stupid law. Charge 3: he's a black kid, he was probably resisting an officer who was trying to arrest him for sneezing too loudly.
Raleigh, at the very least vote for Matt. The dude has VISION. He would be the most important asset to the growth and future image of our great city, if elected.
