As the Obama campaign in 2008 went with a 50-state strategy, Democrats in 2014 in NC need a 100-county strategy. I live in Haywood County, where Sen. Jim Davis (R-Macon) and Rep. Michelle Presnell (R-Yancey) have alienated reasonable people of goodwill who would otherwise vote Republican. Both are vulnerable, especially Ms. Presnell with her standing in the way of the friendly annexation of Lake Junaluska by the Town of Waynesville.
Democrats across the state simply need to point to the rising unemployment rate and the plummeting rankings in business climate, reminding voters that under business-friendly progressive Democrat government since at least the days of Terry Sanford, North Carolina has been a jobs and business magnet.
