When I read your article, I kept going back to the headline to make sure that I had read the it correctly. I'm appalled and angry that such an inaccurate and misinformed piece could be written. At The Goathouse Refuge, Siglinda Scarpa, her staff and volunteers provide a loving, safe and healthy environment where, if not adopted, these cats can live out their days without worry. If not for the refuge, the vast majority of these cats would die in the wild or be captured and killed by the county. As owner of three cats (two from the Orange Co. shelter and one stray), I can assure you that I could only hope and pray that they could have a home at The Goathouse Refuge if not with me, and I am very devoted to my three.
I've always thought of The Indie as a reliable source, but after this article, I now realize that I have to take its articles with the same or more skepticism as I do any other new source.
