I was saddened tremendously by this article. I have been to the Goathouse many times and have never seen anything but a lovely, CLEAN, well-run place where abused and abandoned animals have a chance to be nurtured, loved and hopefully adopted. The ones who are feral are allowed to live out their lives in the sunshine and trees just being a cat. Every cat has access to several inside shelters where they can be out of the elements if they wish. Every time I have gone there, I have said that I would feel bad adopting one of her cats, since the grounds and shelters are a cat's paradise. Siglinda has always been very gracious. She even ran a pottery workshop for my daughter's school. When I am there, I frequently take pictures of the cats and have never seen a sick one that was not being treated. I have been allowed access to all of the buildings and was allowed to take photos of EVERYTHING there. Siglinda works tirelessly just to make sure the care of the cats is top notch. I am sure there are some disgruntled former volunteers who have an axe to grind. It's just a shame that their animosity will hurt no one but the animals they say they are concerned about.
