It has been years since this documentary about Daryll Hunt originally aired at the film festival.
It is currently available on NETFLIX.
I was shocked to see what this man had to endure during his twenty years of innocence; trials and prison.
It is beyond shocking at how corrupt our justice system truly is and racially motivated this case was.
My best wishes are with Mr. Hunt, his family and friends who had to endure the ugly predjudice, lack of investigation, and fabrication of a case to close it reguardless of person behind bars's innocence; excluded by DNA!
I am sure Mr. Hunt is a hero to many in prisons today and gives them faith. Especially the many of minority of prisoners who are poor and continue to reside behind bars framed for crimes they did not partake in.
Corrupt police and officers of the court who could care less, and a system too quick to convict just due to a racial, class, religious, and/or ethnic difference. Even the victim's mother refusing to see someone else stated he did the crime and his DNA was at the scene did not change her mind! SHOCKING.
This film is a painful reality that all is not fair or equal in the USA justice system. Thankfull Mr. Hunt had a wonderful support system in his lovely wife, his friends, excellent attorneys and vocal advocates.
