Hello there, Kate's Dad here (one of the founding members of the Big Lamp Brewery, the first Micro-Brewery in the North East of England). Here's an interesting little fact : ESB = Extra Special Bitter. In the 1980's we called one of our beers Big Lamp ESB and we had to rename it, because the London brewer Fullers - a very old brewery which was started at the time of Oliver Cromwell - had already named one of their beers ESB, ( a very nice beer which still exists today), and did not like the fact there was another ESB on the market. So ours was renamed Big Lamp Premium. I rather like ESP for the Extra Sensory Perception you get after a few pints! Nice write-up for the Fortnight Brewery though, sure it will be a great success.
