Here is what is has come down to? One woman asking if a person has a penis in from of an “elementary-school-aged girl” and as sitting State senator boasting about a premeditated assault? God Guns & Gays. Every single election cycle. We have other issues that need our attention at this time in our history.
Johann must not like independent news that has not been bought and paid for by corporations.
My open letter to our new Governor-Elect Pat McCrory. First congratulations on your win, but now you must follow up on your promises from your campaign. You ran on bringing jobs to North Carolina and I would like to hold you to that promise. I hope that you will not become a “Rubber Stamp Republican” governor so many governors elected in the last elections. To bring business back to North Carolina we need to offer the best educated workforce in the nation and to do that we must invest in education not giving tax payer funds to for profit corporations then calling for tax breaks for the top earners. Voter ID continues to be a high-profile issue in many state legislatures last year including ours at a cost of 18 MILLION DOLLARS to fund. Don’t tell us we are broke and began balancing budgets on the backs of the poor, young and the very old to pay for this. Legislation was introduced in 32 states. That includes new voter ID proposals in 14 states, proposals to strengthen existing voter ID laws in ten states, and bills in nine states to amend the new voter ID laws passed in 2011. New voter ID laws were passed in four states -- Minnesota, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania and Virginia. So I am looking forward to see what the first bill that you will sign into law will be. Will it be more tax cuts masked as job creation? I have yet to see the first job that was created from a tax cut. Everyone knows jobs will come from the demand for our goods and services made here in North Carolina. Or will it be a revamped Jim Crow law reworded to fit the 21th century term Voter ID? So will you be a Jobs Governor as you ran on or a Social Issues Governor Rubber Stamping all Bills from the General Assembly?
