Holding is the second son of the second son. In 19th century England, he would have had to join the priesthood or the military. Here, things are different. The family had to find something to do just to keep him out of the bank where they did not want him, obviously. He's a stuffed shirt and a jerk. That said, money will take him to Congress at least for a while. It's disgusting.
