"The idea is to give those cats a better outcome, have them live out their lives in the community and produce fewer cats so that, in the long run, there are fewer cats impacting the shelter system." — Lisa Kroll, associate executive director of the SPCA of Wake County

Re: “ADF 2012: Perennial favorite Pilobolus falls flat”
Myself, I agree with the reviewer, only more so. Given costume and scene changes witnessed in this and other shows, the excuse of time filler seems pretty thin for that interminable video. Some of it lasted longer than lntermission! In fact, I am far less charitable. In addition to distracting and repititious, I found the grainy found footage to be pretentious, sophmoric, and completely off-putting. For me, that juvenile and amaturish feeling bled over into the performances, overwhelming the occasional moments of visual interest and beauty we were offered. I was sorely disappointed. I am a great fan of the ADF, but I will be spending my money (not cheap tickets!) more carefully in future performances.
