Re: “Re: Raleigh and mass transit

Light rail is the answer for Raleigh and the Triangle and it's transportation woes. Yes, the TTA system is wonderful for getting between Durham, Raleigh and Chapel Hill. And you can use it to get to places as far away as Zebulon, Wake Forest, and other locations.
But , I am still shocked that Raleigh has a bus system that shuts down most of its routes at around 10 p.m. on the Weekdays and earlier that that on Sunday. The TTA does not run in the night on Saturdays and not at all on Sundays. Which then leaves Greyhound as a route to get around if you are a non car driver and that is not a cheap option. It runs close to 20 dollars one way.
Durham and Chapel Hill are behind the Light Rail plan. Get your act together Raleigh.

Re: “Historic Liberty Warehouse to be demolished; condos and stores to replace it

As Downtown continues to develop, I am not surprised by the new designs on the Liberty Building. I was there on one of the days of clean up after folks had to move out of the building and I had a feeling that it might not survive.
However, that is one of the hippest cultural areas in the city, so I hope that whatever is brought into the facility will fit well with Motorco, Fullsteam, The Bar, the Skate Park, Central Park, and the many other cool things that are developing in the Bull City.
