This article omits the central fact that the proposed center will study the STATE constitution of North Carolina, not the United States Constitution.

This is exactly the level of understanding that most articles about rap written by white writers exhibit. They don't totally miss the point, but they don't totally get the picture either. Mr. Lindsey is to some degree parodying this tendency among white music writers.
