I live in California where no one knows from pimento cheese. But I do get to eat it once a year, when I go to a Guyanese event. They just call them "cheese sandwiches" but they are made exactly like the pimento cheese sandwiches of the southern U.S. I wonder if the origins of pimento cheese are English. That would explain the southern/Guyanese connection.
