I was the Drug Treatment Court Coordinator in Wake County a few years ago when we had Superior, District and Juvenile DTCs. Nothing gave me more pleasure than to see graduates leave to start a new sober life. One man did not make it that far. On his sixth month of sobriety in the DTC he died of complications from past alcohol and other drug use . His family told me at the funeral home how proud they were of those six months and how much they appreciated DTC. IT SHOULD BE ABOUT LIVES, NOT MONEY!
