Thank you for being so brave, Amanda; and thanks to the Independent Weekly for posting this. I, too, have always heard some crazy things about what goes on in Housekeeping. I understand why most people would feel powerless in your position (I know I would), so I admire your determination & longing for justice. They're finally starting to take you & the other women of Housekeeping seriously. Hallelujah!

Thank you for bringing this to light. I don't recall being this appalled by anything I've read in the news in a long time.

If anyone's curious, the western NC organization that gives cash to drug addicts willing to undergo sterilization is http://www.projectprevention.org.
