Re: “Greenbridge: A new chapter in a tense history

This video compilation builds up the idea that Greenbridge does not "fit" with the Northside community.
Architecturally this is true. That big building was built for the times ahead (it was indeed expensive). Soon many of the elder "normal looking" homes in Northside will need drastic and expensive energy efficiency improvements (hence the new WISE program that Chapel hill and Carrboro just rolled out). Energy needs have driven architectural change always and "historical conservation" will definitely be challenged further as energy needs come to be more strongly influencing and driving our choices.
Socially, Greenbridge fits well. Its nice that Northside Community is now growing and obviously with people that want to be part of the community. Could have been another apartment building with recycling bins out front full of empty beer cans or worse... kept as it was (Does anyone remember that state of things that were demolished?). I have a hard time seeing social injustice when a community has gained people assets. I love the analogy of lemonade made in the video and wonder if the newest folks at Northside also like to make lemonade. Could be a sweet party?

Re: “Greenbridge: 10 stories, $29 million in debt

Im glad someone built Greenbridge. The cocaine whore houses that used to be there were about as attractive as the Anarchists propoganda art.
