I'm doing Atkins and its not my first time. I lost 15kg in about 3 months last time and I've started over after an year's break. I was beginning to gain weight again so here I am. I am in the Induction phase (first 2 weeks) and if I were to strictly follow Atkins, I wouldn't be eating nuts, instead, I am just following the guideline of making sure I don't eat more than 20 gms of Carbs per day. I have cut out all the sugars, but a small portion of a Snickers bar, (divide it into 6 portions?) would be 4gms Carbs only, a few nuts would keep me within limit too, so why not?
I like your ideas about cashews, I hate the feeling that I've stopped using my teeth too and it works out great. But for anyone following Atkins, lets not indulge with the wine...that'd put an end to your diet quicker than the nuts!
