Ms. Hecht as got something personal riding on all these issues.. Just have a look-see at her website which promotes nuclear energy proliferation as well as the goodness of DDT(carcinogen) As for her belief that irradiation is good, interpret that as saying that it is good for the producers and agribusiness in general ! Most studies by competent professionals have demonstrated without a shadow of a doubt that irradiation affects our bodies beyond a shadow of a doubt ! ( Shanghai Institute of Radiation Medicine and Shanghai Institute of Nuclear Research, "Safety evaluation of 35 kinds of irradiated human foods, "Chinese Med Journal, 100:715, 1987.)
