I disagree that only elite and affluent women are finding pleasure and reward in more traditional domestic roles. Its more likely that women tend to have friends in their own tax bracket. So the new world looks flat. But it isn't.
Women of all economic strata are figuring out that growing your own food, working with your hands, and learning new skills not only save you money and return you higher quality proceeds. The lifestyle can be very rewarding psychologically. You can find homeschoolers, knitters, bakers, canners, gardeners, and chicken keepers in most neighborhoods these days.
