It is awful how Black males are targeted in Wake County Public Schools. I personally know the young man in your article. I am disappointed that key details were left out. Your article failed to point out that the young man was sitting alone and approached by the senior. It also failed to mention that the, the young man had never had a fight prior, and he only hit the boy back 1 time after the boy threw his lunch into his face. More problematic, the principal made false statements to the police, particularly having witnessed the event when in fact she was not there. Her false statements caused the young man in your article to receive long term suspension. I think the actions of the principal are intolerable!!!
