Henri McClees -- the same person who opposed Susie's law, doing what she and her husband Joe are famous for -- as WUNC reported:
"Insiders say it was held up by the NRA and by hunting dog lobbyist Henri McClees, who allegedly told senators it was a plot by PETA to entrap hunters and farmers under the 'maim or torture' clause, even though the bill clearly states that isn’t true."

If Henri is the only person you could find to speak against the bill, that should tell you something.
Re: “Duke removes four anti-immigration groups from Fred Stanback Internship Program”
FAIR's "Environmental Impact" statement also makes the following very clear:
"When immigrants come to the United States, they do not maintain the traditional lifestyle of their home country. Rather, they quickly adapt to the American lifestyle. As they do, they become greater consumers and polluters; their individual ecological footprint increases."
Seems pretty obvious -- the problem is not immigration. The problem is the lifestyle of those of us already here. Immigrants do make a useful scapegoat, now don't they?
