It's funny how the cable advocates love to bring up Mooresville's MI Connection system as proof that municipal broadband is a failure. They bought a bankrupt CABLE system, and tried to make it work. Cities like Wilson & Salisbury have built new fiber optic systems from the ground up. Cable companies know that they CANNOT compete with that level of technology, as they have relied too long on copper. Unfortunately I do not live in either Wilson or Salisbury, but if I move in the near future, you can bet that one deciding factor would be access to true broadband.
