Sadlack's was always a comfortable place to go and be yourself...meet some folks willing to be real, talk, dance, play with the dogs, hang with locals. So many fond memories of the welcome atmosphere. Live and let live was what I ultimately learned (and had reinforced) from abiding institutions like Sadlack's. May those ideas live on as we find a new place to gather in the "new" Raleigh.
residue left on "gloved hands". If they have nothing to hide, why don't they bust the investigation wide open? I can't believe this is happening.
As a former member of a practically unknown (but very well loved in our tiny circle) Durham band, The Fuck Yeahs, I have a comment regarding the statement made at the end of this article: "Songs about fucking are fine, but bands that just want to bait us with the word but no real danger? Time to give it a friggin' break." I can't remember if we played /sang any songs about fucking because we were having too much fun...and there IS real danger in that. It was a band with no rules...and there IS real danger in that. We were so dangerous, we had to back off from ourselves but it was a fucking blast while it lasted.
Michael! Dang it! You made me make a punctuation error!!!!
Michael, your obvious need for and apparent drooling at the feet of abusive power disgusts me. And you aren't fooling anyone with your kkkarl rovian copy-cat accusation of sexism in the cartoonists' work. I hope you go to your hell. And finally, WHY is it all of you right wing types cannot spell?
LMDL: Can you provide one shred of evidence to support your claim that this article is filled with "lies"? Also, what do TSA policies have to do with voting for Obama or Democrats in general? I believe the gross invasions of privacy so prevalent in our society today were begun on your guys' watch when the Dept. of Homeland Security was created to funnel some tax dollars into private companies and scare Americans into supporting the Iraq war. The TSA is a Bush administration creation. Are you suggesting Democrats created the paranoia that allows these measures? And who, may I ask, are these "job producers"? CEO salaries up; corporate profits up; but where are the jobs? We aren't buying that trickle-down bullshit anymore.
