One major comment about "what they do know so far"
Deer do NOT have babies twice a year! They are pregnant for approximately 200 days, that would make it impossible to give birth twice a year.
They DO typically have two fawn in one season.

I was at that meeting and never heard it said that they give birth twice a year, though that was stated and rebutted at the Governor's Club meeting.
