I'm gonna stir the pot. If Grayson would have done this record review do you know what I think he would have said? I think he would have said the record was wonderful and he would have given his reasons why, just like he does when he gives a not-so-great review.
I understand it's hard to have someone not like something you like but you do understand that it is Grayson's job to review records, don't you? It's sour grapes. It's as though people think it's his job to like local bands, to like bands that come through this area. What would you say about that, him writing only positive reviews? That he was glad-handing. That he was brown-nosing it up, I suppose.
I've had people write awful things about me - really personal, hurtful things. Not: she can't write a good song, but: she doesn't look good enough - that I'm the Jim Carrey of singers, a fat Robert Plant -- and do you know what I think? I think despite the awful feeling that sits in the pit of my stomach, it's really just a goddamn opinion. People are entitled to those, remember? In fact, Grayson is paid to give his.
I'm not sticking up for Grayson, he can do that for himself. I'm really saying: stop being an asshole. Maybe Grayson is wrong and you disagree with him. Don't threaten to burn his house down, that's just rude, ya know?
This Spiderbags record is a true gem by the way - go buy it, go to the show tomorrow. I'll be there, you can come tell me how wrong I am, but remember, I have heart trouble! Ha ha ha! Sucks to be you - better hope I don't die!!!
Hello! I wanted to thank you for such a great review of our record, Chris! We worked really long and hard on it (That's what she said! muwhahaha!) and really, I think, picked our best and heaviest songs.
However, no big deal, I don't think anyone is crying in their bedrooms, but Jessica Caesar is still in Pink Flag and will remain there.
