I think this article did some great research. The news of the moment is misidentifying your military service as being something it isn't.
Here, this GOP rep is clearly associating himself with something he isn't.
Interesting that the primary defense of this man comes as "why don't you report more about misbehaving dems?" Pretty disgusting.
When I see some of the opinions of some of the neanderthals that have posted here, I lament the loss of our democracy. It is simply shocking to me that so many of these clueless Republican-worshipers have no respect for the truth. They wouldn't recognize it if it hit them right between the eyes. They don't want to talk policies and wat will/won't work. They simply want to drag their butts out on the field of battle and claim that small govmnt and low taxes is the cure for every ill that we face. They're pathetic.
This case is a black eye for Durham. The independent has done a marvelous job pursuing this through the years.
When you see a guy who has been freed rearrested, it seems to me to follow a pattern. Remember the guy who was freed after being convicted of killing a drug-using truck driver? He was in jail on other charges at the time of the murder. He won his release and won big bucks from the state (well, maybe not as big as he deserived). He then got a young teen pregnant...not sure of her age. This kind of prosecution (statutory rape) could happen every day of the week if prosecutors or so inclined. Most prosecutors bother only if the mother of the girl complains.
So it is clearly a selectively-prosecuted crime. For some reason, they chose to prosecute this guy who'd managed to prove just how corrupt they were. His and Erick Daniels' best bet is to move out of the state.
