Re: “What Bernie Sanders Won by Losing the Democratic Primary

What a crock, and an insulting one at that. Clearly, the title "Independent" is only marketing.

The primary is over when one candidate gets past the threshold, not when you say it is.

It's pretty obvious you're either a Hillary supporter or just wishy-washy about your claimed Bernie support.

There is no downside to seeing this primary through one way or another. Your motives are incredibly suspect.

Re: “What good are Durham Police Department body cameras if the public can’t see what’s on them?

Body cameras are a necessity. Trust HAS been broken, despite the racist connents above, and good cops should want to have their recorded professional behavior backing up their testimony.

Police are public servants, who are supposed to be acting in the public interest. There is no room or excuse for secrecy or privacy while on the job; privacy is for private citizens, not public servants on the clock, except in the bathroom. Don't like it? We don't need you as a cop.

Deleted or missing audio or video should generally be considered evidence of premeditation. There has been overwhelming video evidence in recent years that a small minority of cops lie, falsify, and cover up. And others cover for them, including administrators.

The ship has already sailed. Body cameras are a must. Public access (within reason) is a must. Only the details need to be ironed out.

Body cameras are in the public interest, and all decent cops should support them. Cops and administrators who don't probably have something they're hiding.

Re: “Gray Brooks will change the name of "Hattie Mae Williams Called Me Captain"

Dude. Grow up. What a pathetic little whiner you're being.

Re: “Where’s the money? A local mental health provider takes $1.2 million from the state, doesn’t pay its employees

Why isn't Lisa Stacy under arrest for theft and misuse of public funds???!! She should be. Why isn't that addressed in this article?

Re: “Southern Durham Development gives $50K to developer's Super PAC

Super PACs in Durham? WTF?

This is why I'm voting for John Owens; he's pledged to not be involved with this kind of garbage.

He's even got an ad about the "Durham Elections Godfather" that speaks to these kind of issues and sclerotic elections because of cronyism, money, and Durham "tradition."

Re: “2012 Primary Endorsements

I'm really surprised that you guys didn't really say much of anything about John Owens. He's young but he's the only one with a completely new perspective, and he knows both the budget and the issues better than any of the other candidates, including long-time incumbents. He's displayed this at numerous opportunities. Shame on you Indy!

Plus, he has hilarious video ads:
