Re: “Brett Harris' Man of Few Words

neat that you mention Paul McCartney in your review here Mr Parker cause that's the feel that came to mind on my listen...especially the first track. You got a solid point...its hard for a pop singer/songwriter to make an impact these days, everyone is looking for the next thing that's different and crazy, that will make them go "wow...wtf was that...i love it." So if a song writer is going to write airy pop songs like Brett has on Man....they gotta write solid hooks. That said I think this album is very hooky.."Something Beautiful" is one big hook from start to finish. There is also some wicked guitar work near the end of track four "Drop the Needle" which is important around these parts.

Anyway, here's another album review for Man of Few Words ...very similar to what you found/wrote but with a few added view points: http://secretcarrboroninjapatrol.blogspot.…

Re: “Spider Bags' "Dog in the Snow" b/w "Walking Walking Nowhere Nowhere"

"have springy hooks for a little side-to-side bounce" ...yes that describes it...i went back and forth on these two tracks for the better part of a week...they do have bounce! this is a great album...going to be a killer show. here's another album review for "Dog in the Snow"
