Sorry, I forgot to mention, and I assume the author did as well, that some of the statistics that were missed about gun crime is that police officers have a higher incidence of "illegal" / unlawful use of a firearm than people with a CCP. Also, (and this may be a little dated) the only person convicted of murder using a machine gun in the US was also a police officer - there may have been others but he was the first. BTY - what establishments don't want people to carry unregistered knifes into their places of business? and how can I contact "Moms Demand Action for Knife/Hammer/Base Ball Bat/Club etc. Sense in America? Also, note typically Police Chiefs usually don't support CCP laws but Sheriffs do (like in CO) - know why? Police Chiefs are normally chosen by and serve at the pleasure of their (Democratic) mayor while Sheriffs are elected by the people/residence. Just food for thought.
I went to the Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America looking for establishments that don't like CCP people. To gain access to their list I would be required to tell them my gmail login info including password. I think NOT! Sounds to much like a hacker scam or identity theft ring. I wonder if they are Russian or Kenyan sponsored.
Thanks for the list of bars and restaurants I won't be doing business with and the contact info for the Grass Roots North Carolina. One thing I learned long ago was to stay away from places where crime is likely to occur like establishments that advertise they don't like people who legally can carry a firearm and know how to use it. Lets the bad guys and gals (must be PC) know where they will have little resistance. Like Luigi's Italian Restaurant in Fayetteville back in 93 that killed four people and wounded eight. Just remember - when seconds count the police are only minutes away.
I worked as an engineer for a small chemical company in Pennsylvania some years back where a union organized the plant labor. The union told the workers that they would get them the same wages and benefits as were being paid by a major chemical company that had plants in the same area. The major company actually had about 6 unions represented at the plant sites.
The union pointed out that there was a substantial difference between the pay for the same job title. Most notable the title of Operator. I had worked at both plants and knew first hand that while the titles were the same the knowledge required, duties and responsibilities were vastly different. The job title of Operator typically took 6 to 10 years to obtain at the large plant and only about 6 months at the smaller plant.
I was not directly involved in either case because I worked in the companies laboratories but knew many of the people involved.
While the union did win the election, negations took longer than the employees wanted so they went out on strike. Unfortunately the type of strike they called allowed the company to hire scab labor. In the mean time the company needed a supply of intermediate chemicals that the plant manufactured to supply their customers with finished product. The company found that they could in many instances buy better quality chemicals from an outside supplier at a lower price than it cost them to produce. This reduced the manpower the plant required.
As time progressed some of the workers voluntarily came back to work and the union eventually settled for an agreement where the striking workers would be rehired as openings occurred and the union withdrew. Most never got their old jobs back.
As a side note the union also struck one of the large chemical companys plants in the area. The strike was finally settled after about two and a half years with the workers getting a five cent per hour increase in pay. At the time the prevailing wage was $12-15/hr. How long would it take to make up the lost wages with a $0.05/hr increase?
If worker wish to organize I believe that is their right. However the workers need to understand that a union contract establishes rules that go both ways and unions cannot normally deliver what they say they can.
I have worked for companies where I may have voted for union representation if it was available however that would have been on my last day of employment as I left.

However now: According to the local NEWS paper: Robeson County commissioners agreed unanimously Friday that they should cut ties with the company that pledged two years ago to build and operate an ethanol plant in St. Pauls. During the county board's two-day annual retreat, being held at the Sea Trail Resort/Conference Center in Sunset Beach, officials expressed frustration over St. Pauls Biotek's failure to supply financial and construction information that commissioners wanted to review during their retreat.
County Manager Ken Windley told the board that he has received no response from the company not even a phone call concerning information that was requested at a meeting between Biotek and county officials last month.
It was two years ago that the Georgia-based company approached the county with its plans to build a $5.5 million plant, adjacent to the county landfill on Landfill Road. The project had been in the planning stages since 2006.
The county ultimately signed a 15-year contract with Solv-It Technologies, which later became St. Pauls Biotek, in February 2007.
As part of the agreement, the county installed a $1.1 million system to collect methane gas from the landfill to power the plant. The contract also called for the county to receive a 6 percent royalty, or about $400,000 a year.
Although construction on the plant was originally slated to begin in the summer of 2007, it was delayed pending issuance of state approved air quality permits. The permits were finally approved by the state Division of Air Quality last August.
Commissioners say they are likely to decide at their regular meeting Monday whether they should terminate their contract with Biotek. "I'm heartbroken about this, but it seems they are trying to pull something over on us," said Commissioner Jerry Stephens. "This is not the way to do business. We should tell them 'thank you, but no thank you.'"
"This is frustrating and a big disappointment for us," said Commissioner Roger Oxendine, who is a farmer and strong supporter of the construction of an ethanol plant in Robeson County. "It would have been a great economic help for our farmers. It would have given us a competitive market for corn."
Biotek was originally expected to purchase more than 1 million bushels of corn from area farmers. Grain sorghum, Oxendine noted, was another crop that was being considered to manufacture ethanol because of the high demand for corn.
"Even cattle people were planning to use the byproduct of the crushed corn which is high in protein for feed," said Oxendine. Windley told commissioners that they have the option to terminate the contract with Biotek or find someone else to purchase methane gas that is being collected from the landfill.
The collection system that is in place was installed with the help of a $690,000 grant from the Golden LEAF Foundation. The grant required that there be 15 jobs created the number of jobs company officials said would be available at the plant when it was up and running. Windley said he will notify the Golden LEAF Foundation on Monday about the status of the ethanol plant.
In other words Robeson County got sucked into an environmental scam that will cost it $1.1 million and maybe more in the long run.
This like all the other "Global Warming/Climate Change" trash is just another con game for the PC public. Enjoy!
