The IB committee has apparently never dealt with a school system stripping an IB program from a school because, well, who would want to do that? In October, the school board wanted Broughton to expand the program. However, that might take spots away from students whose parents feel they have a birthright to attend Broughton. My solution to this mess (and personal disappointment) is to keep IB at Broughton and add an IB program to somewhere in north Raleigh. I don't know the numbers, but it can't be more than the $2M WCPSS is projecting to move the program.
