I agree, Jesse. I teach high school ESL students. There's the whole struggle to keep ALL students in high school and reduce the drop out rate. The drop out rate is now actually a factor in determining a school's growth, therefore determining teachers' bonus pay. When I have to say to my undocumented students, "Well, you've done a great job. Stayed in school, got good grades, never got in trouble. But sorry, it's graduation time and, regardless of how ambitious you are, or intellegent you are, or how much potential you have to add to society, it's the end of the road for you. Sorry." Well, that's just a sad day for everybody. I too was disappointed in Perdue's stance but McCrory's was no better and he didn't even respond to an email I sent him regarding the matter.
